Education
Gram Vaani’s MINP platform can support distance learning and educational initiatives for capacity building of healthcare or agricultural extension workers in a very novel manner. As shown in the figure below, MINP can be configured to stream classroom sessions, presentation slides, images, whiteboards, etc from study centers of educational institutions or health clinics or schools to local cable TV operators and co-casting stations in the area. Learners will then be able to view the lessons over a CATV broadcast, and make phone calls to the instructor to seek any clarifications. The phone conversation can in turn be broadcast on various communication planes to other MINP enabled media outlets, leading to an interactive learning session through a one-way video conference and a two-way teleconference. The educational institution can also automate the timings of pre-recorded broadcasts anywhere in the country from a centralized scheduling system available over the Internet.
This is only one possible configuration to operate MINP. The distributed system can be easily customized for different scenarios.
