On the lighter side, here’s a novel use of close-circuit-television cameras. As is well known, UK is the country of CCTV cameras — it is covered with some 13 million cameras for security and surveillance! An obscure music band recorded their songs in front of these cameras in a whole bunch of different locations, and then requested for the tapes through the Freedom of Information Act, which is similar to the Right to Information (RTI) Act in India. A few tapes were actually mailed back to the band, and used to make a video that doesn’t look bad at all Call that an innovative use of technology!
